TopicHeard in 3 episodes across 1 show since Jul 2026
The Window of Tolerance is a psychological concept coined by psychiatrist Daniel J. Siegel that describes the optimal zone of physiological and emotional arousal in which a person can function and process information effectively. When an individual is within this window, they are able to manage stress, regulate their emotions, and respond to life's demands without becoming overwhelmed (hyperarousal) or shut down (hypoarousal). This framework is widely used in trauma therapy and psychotraumatology to help clients expand their capacity for emotional regulation.
