Social jet lag
Topic
Social jet lag is a form of circadian misalignment characterized by the discrepancy between an individual's biological sleep schedule and their social obligations, such as work or school. First coined in 2006 by German scientist Till Roenneberg, it represents the difference in sleep timing between work days and free days. This chronic mismatch can lead to sleep deprivation and has been linked to various negative health outcomes, including metabolic and cardiovascular issues.
