Folding space is a common science fiction concept and hypothetical method of faster-than-light travel where two distant points in the universe are brought together by warping or folding the fabric of spacetime. This allows instantaneous travel between those points without traversing the physical distance between them, famously depicted in works like Frank Herbert's Dune series.
