The Bayeux Tapestry is an embroidered cloth nearly 70 metres long that depicts the events leading up to the Norman Conquest of England in 1066, culminating in the Battle of Hastings. It is widely believed to have been commissioned by Bishop Odo of Bayeux and created by Anglo-Saxon artists in England during the 11th century.
