Artemis I was an uncrewed lunar-orbiting mission conducted from November 16 to December 11, 2022. It was the first major flight of NASA’s Artemis program and the first integrated flight test of the Orion spacecraft and Space Launch System rocket, testing systems for future crewed lunar missions.
