The Amish, formally known as the Old Order Amish, are a group of traditionalist Anabaptist Christian church fellowships with Swiss and Alsatian origins. They are known for their simple living, plain dress, Christian pacifism, and a deliberate slowness to adopt modern technology. Maintaining a degree of separation from modern society, they are widely recognized as an ethnoreligious group.
