Mars Sample Return (MSR) was a proposed NASA–ESA multi-mission campaign to collect carefully selected Martian rock and soil samples and return them to Earth for detailed scientific study. The campaign was designed to retrieve samples cached by NASA’s Perseverance rover and deliver them to Earth in sealed containers.
