Mild cognitive impairment

Topic

Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is a medical diagnosis that represents an intermediate stage of cognitive decline between the changes expected with normal aging and the more serious decline of dementia. It can involve problems with memory, language, thinking, or judgment that are noticeable to the affected individual and others, but do not significantly interfere with daily life and independent functioning. While some individuals with MCI eventually progress to Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia, others remain stable or even return to normal cognitive function.
