Xylazine
Topic
Xylazine, commonly known on the street as "tranq" or "tranq dope," is a veterinary drug used for sedation, anesthesia, muscle relaxation, and analgesia in animals. Although not approved for human use, it has increasingly emerged as a dangerous adulterant in illicit street drugs, particularly when mixed with fentanyl to prolong its effects. Human consumption of xylazine can lead to severe health complications, including respiratory depression and necrotic skin ulcers.
