A Dyson swarm is a hypothetical megastructure consisting of a large number of independent orbiting habitats, collectors, or satellites surrounding a star. It is a more physically plausible variant of the Dyson sphere concept, intended to capture a substantial portion of the star’s energy for an advanced spacefaring civilization.
