The United States Military Academy (USMA), commonly known as West Point, is a federal service academy in West Point, New York, that educates and trains cadets for commissioning into the United States Army. Established in 1802, it is the oldest of the five American service academies and is situated on strategic high ground overlooking the Hudson River.
