Uncontacted peoples

Topic

Uncontacted peoples are groups of indigenous peoples living without sustained direct relations with the global community. While generally aware of the outside world, they choose to remain in voluntary isolation, often to preserve their culture and protect themselves from external diseases and exploitation. Most remaining uncontacted groups reside in densely forested regions of South America, Central Africa, and New Guinea.
