Token maxing (or tokenmaxxing) is a workplace practice and metric where employees, particularly software developers and tech workers, intentionally inflate their artificial intelligence usage. By purposefully burning large volumes of AI tokens to meet corporate productivity targets, the practice serves as a modern example of a perverse incentive and Goodhart's law in the tech industry.
