Talmud
Work
by Rabbinic sages and scholars
The Talmud is the central text of Rabbinic Judaism and a foundational source of Jewish law, theology, ethics, and interpretation. It consists primarily of the Mishnah and Gemara, preserving generations of rabbinic discussions and commentary on the Oral Torah; the two principal compilations are the Babylonian Talmud and the Jerusalem Talmud.
