Talent, or aptitude, is an inborn potential to perform certain kinds of activities, whether physical or mental, and whether developed or undeveloped. It represents a component of competence to do a certain kind of work at an outstanding level. Unlike skills and abilities, which are developed through learning and practice, talent is typically characterized as an innate, natural capacity.
