South Bend is a city in and the county seat of St. Joseph County, Indiana, United States. It lies along the St. Joseph River near its southernmost bend, from which it derives its name. As the fourth-most populous city in Indiana, it serves as the economic and cultural hub of the multi-county Michiana region.
