The Socratic method is a form of cooperative argumentative dialogue in which individuals probe conversation partners on a topic using questions and clarifications. Named after the Classical Greek philosopher Socrates, it is designed to stimulate critical thinking, draw out underlying beliefs, and expose logical contradictions or limits in knowledge.
