Smith Island is an island community located on the Chesapeake Bay, straddling the border of Maryland and Virginia in the United States. It is the last inhabited island in Maryland that is not accessible by car, consisting of three distinct communities: Tylerton, Rhodes Point, and Ewell. The island is well-known for its unique cultural heritage, traditional crabbing industry, and the famous multi-layered Smith Island cake.
