SM-6, formally the RIM-174 Standard Extended Range Active Missile (ERAM), is a ship-launched guided missile used primarily for extended-range air defense. Produced for the U.S. Navy by RTX’s Raytheon business, it can engage aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, anti-ship cruise missiles, and certain ballistic-missile threats, and has also been developed for high-speed anti-ship missions.
