Semiconductor fabrication plant
Topic
A semiconductor fabrication plant, commonly referred to as a fab or a foundry, is a highly specialized factory where integrated circuits (ICs) and microchips are manufactured. These facilities require extremely controlled environments, known as cleanrooms, to prevent microscopic dust and particles from damaging the delicate silicon wafers during the production process. Fabs are among the most expensive manufacturing facilities in the world due to the advanced lithography and chemical processing equipment required.
