Seljuk Turks
Topic
The Seljuk Turks were an Oghuz Turkic, Sunni Muslim dynasty that established the influential Seljuk Empire and several successor states, including the Sultanate of Rum. Originating from Central Asia, they culturally became highly Persianate and played a pivotal role in shaping the medieval Middle East and Anatolia. Their expansion and military victories, notably at the Battle of Manzikert, significantly contributed to the spread of Turco-Persian culture and Islamic rule.
