Sardinia is the second-largest island in the Mediterranean Sea and an autonomous region of Italy. Located west of the Italian Peninsula and just south of Corsica, it is known for its rugged mountainous interior, beautiful coastline, and rich ancient history, including the unique Bronze Age nuraghe stone structures.
