Sadism, often studied in psychology as everyday or subclinical sadism, is a personality trait characterized by the enjoyment of inflicting or witnessing pain, suffering, or humiliation upon other people or animals. It is closely associated with a lack of empathy and is frequently linked to other dark personality traits, such as psychopathy.
