RNA-mediated inheritance is a form of transgenerational epigenetic inheritance where non-coding RNA molecules, such as small interfering RNAs (siRNAs), microRNAs, and tRNA fragments, transmit phenotypic information across generations without altering the underlying DNA sequence. This mechanism allows environmental influences, such as stress or nutritional changes, to be biologically communicated from parents to offspring through germline RNA payloads.
