Procurement is the commercial process of purchasing goods, services, or other works from external sources, and agreeing the terms on which they will be supplied. It often involves strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and competitive bidding or tendering processes. When conducted by government agencies, the practice is referred to as public or government procurement.
