The Battle of Chancellorsville, fought from April 30 to May 6, 1863, was a major engagement of the American Civil War. Located in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, it is widely considered to be Confederate General Robert E. Lee's greatest military victory, though it also resulted in the mortal wounding of General Stonewall Jackson.
