Philip Sheridan

Philip Sheridan was a prominent Union general during the American Civil War. In 1864, he defeated Confederate forces under General Jubal Early in the Shenandoah Valley and destroyed the region's economic infrastructure. His victories in the Shenandoah Valley, alongside William Tecumseh Sherman's capture of Atlanta, were instrumental to the Union war effort.
