Perseverance is a car-sized NASA rover designed to explore the Jezero crater on Mars as part of the Mars 2020 mission. Manufactured by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, it was launched on July 30, 2020, and successfully landed on Mars on February 18, 2021, to seek signs of ancient life and collect samples of rock and regolith for possible return to Earth.
