Permanent lunar base

A permanent lunar base, or moonbase, is a human outpost established on or beneath the surface of the Moon to support long-term robotic or human activity. Unlike temporary camps, it provides permanent surface infrastructure to enable sustained scientific research, resource utilization, and space exploration. Multiple space agencies and private entities are actively planning such bases, including NASA's Artemis Base Camp and the International Lunar Research Station.
