Topic

The Paracas culture was an ancient Andean society that flourished between approximately 800 BCE and 100 BCE in the Ica Region of modern-day Peru. They are renowned for their extensive knowledge of irrigation, highly sophisticated textile arts, and distinctive practices such as cranial deformation and trepanation. Much of what is known about this pre-Columbian civilization stems from archaeological excavations on the Paracas Peninsula, first investigated in the 1920s.
