Operation Paperclip
Topic
Operation Paperclip was a secret United States intelligence program in which more than 1,600 German scientists, engineers, and technicians were relocated from former Nazi Germany to the U.S. for government employment after World War II. Conducted by the Joint Intelligence Objectives Agency (JIOA) between 1945 and 1959, the program aimed to harness German scientific expertise for the Cold War, despite many of the recruits being former members and leaders of the Nazi Party.
