Ollantaytambo

Ollantaytambo is a town and an Inca archaeological site located in the Sacred Valley of southern Peru, approximately 72 kilometers northwest of Cusco. Situated at an altitude of 2,792 meters, it served as a royal estate for Emperor Pachacuti and later as a stronghold for Manco Inca Yupanqui during the Spanish conquest. Today, it is a major tourist hub and one of the most common starting points for the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
