NBA Free Agency

Heard in 2 episodes across 2 shows since Jul 2026

NBA free agency is an annual offseason period in the National Basketball Association during which players whose contracts have expired are permitted to negotiate and sign new deals with any franchise. Governed by the league's collective bargaining agreement and salary cap rules, it features both unrestricted free agents, who can sign with any team, and restricted free agents, whose original teams retain the right to match any outside contract offer. This period is a primary driver of player movement, roster rebuilding, and league-wide competitive balance.
