Organization

The United States National Park System is the collection of federally managed parks, monuments, historic sites, recreation areas, and other protected properties administered primarily by the National Park Service. The National Park Service is an agency of the U.S. Department of the Interior, established in 1916 to conserve these resources and provide for their public enjoyment.
