Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome
Topic
Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) is a complex, disabling, and long-term medical condition characterized by profound fatigue that is not improved by rest. The hallmark symptom of the illness is post-exertional malaise (PEM), which involves a severe worsening of symptoms following even minor physical or mental activity. Other common symptoms include unrefreshing sleep, cognitive difficulties (often referred to as "brain fog"), and orthostatic intolerance.
