A mind virus (or virus of the mind) is a conceptual term, popularized by evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins, used to describe how certain ideas, beliefs, or memes can replicate and spread through human populations in a manner analogous to biological viruses. The concept is frequently used in memetics to analyze the propagation of religious dogmas, ideologies, and cultural behaviors that infect human consciousness and influence behavior.
