In Greek mythology, Menelaus is a legendary king of Mycenaean Sparta and a central figure in the Trojan War. He is the husband of Helen of Troy and the son of Atreus. In Homer's Odyssey, his travels are highlighted when Odysseus's son, Telemachus, visits him to seek news of his missing father.
