The Mass is the main Eucharistic liturgical service in many forms of Western Christianity, most notably within the Catholic Church. During this sacred ritual, bread and wine are consecrated and received as the body and blood of Christ. The term is also used by Lutheran, Anglican, Old Catholic, and Western Rite Orthodox communities.
