Lymphatic clearance is the physiological process by which the lymphatic system drains and removes excess interstitial fluid, cellular waste, macromolecules, and immune cells from tissues. This mechanism relies on both intrinsic lymphatic vessel pumping and extrinsic forces to transport lymph back into the blood circulation, playing a critical role in tissue fluid homeostasis, immune surveillance, and the prevention of edema.
