A lymph node is a kidney-shaped organ of the lymphatic system and the adaptive immune system. Linked throughout the body by lymphatic vessels, they serve as major sites for B and T lymphocytes. They function as critical filters for foreign particles, including pathogens and cancer cells, to support proper immune system function.
