Luteinizing hormone
Topic
Luteinizing hormone (LH) is a gonadotropic hormone produced and released by the anterior pituitary gland. In females, an acute rise of LH triggers ovulation and the development of the corpus luteum, while in males, it stimulates Leydig cells to produce testosterone. Its production is regulated by gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) from the hypothalamus.
