Level 2: Personal Concerns
Topic
Level 2: Personal Concerns (also known as Level 2 or Characteristic Adaptations) is the second tier of psychologist Dan McAdams's three-level model of personality. It encompasses a person's contextualized goals, values, coping strategies, and developmental tasks, describing what a person wants and how they try to get it within specific situations and roles. This level goes beyond general dispositional traits (Level 1) to provide a more contextualized and dynamic understanding of individual personality.
