Lesula monkey
Topic
The lesula (Cercopithecus lomamiensis) is a species of Old World monkey in the guenon genus, endemic to the Lomami Basin of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Discovered by international scientists in 2007 and formally described in 2012, it was only the second new species of African monkey discovered since 1984. It is notable for its strikingly human-like eyes and the vibrant blue coloration on the backside and scrotum of adult males.
