Kent Charles Berridge is an American psychologist and neuroscientist who is James Olds Distinguished University Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Michigan. He is known for research on the brain mechanisms of affect, emotion, and motivation, including the distinction between “wanting” and “liking” and the incentive-sensitization theory of addiction.
