J. Kyle Bass is an American investor and the founder and principal of Hayman Capital Management, a Dallas-based hedge fund. He also founded Conservation Equity Management, a private equity firm focused on environmental sustainability, and became known for successfully betting against subprime mortgage securities before the 2008 financial crisis.
