Intersex conditions
Topic
Intersex conditions refer to a diverse group of naturally occurring variations in which an individual is born with sex characteristics—such as chromosomes, gonads, or genitals—that do not fit typical binary medical definitions of male or female bodies. Historically referred to as hermaphroditism and sometimes medically classified as disorders or differences of sex development (DSD), these variations can manifest at birth or become apparent later in life, such as during puberty.
