Hole was an American alternative rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1989 by singer/guitarist Courtney Love and guitarist Eric Erlandson. The band became one of the most commercially successful female-fronted rock groups in history, releasing four studio albums across two active eras spanning the 1990s and early 2010s.
