Great American Politburo
Topic
The "Great American Politburo" (historically referred to as the American Politburo or the Political Committee of the Communist Party USA) was the top executive and decision-making body of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA). Modeled after the Soviet Politburo, it directed the party's political strategy, ideological alignment, and national campaigns during the 20th century. In modern political discourse, the term is also occasionally used as a rhetorical metaphor to describe highly centralized executive authority or coordinated economic planning in the United States.
