Göbekli Tepe is a Neolithic archaeological site in Upper Mesopotamia, located in modern-day southeastern Turkey. Inhabited from around 9500 BCE to at least 8000 BCE, it is famous for its large circular structures containing massive T-shaped stone pillars, which are among the world's oldest known megaliths.
