The Finger Lakes region is an area in Upstate New York centered around eleven long, narrow, roughly north–south glacial lakes. The region is renowned for its dramatic landscapes, deep gorges, numerous waterfalls, and its prominent role as a major wine-producing area in the eastern United States.
